Question for written answer E-001787/2025
to the Commission
Rule 144
Nicolás González Casares (S&D)
The Commission’s answer to my question E-005853/2020[1] made note of the infringement procedure opened regarding the Galician regional government’s failure to fulfil its obligations under the Habitats Directive, as well as the lack of approval of specific management plans for Natura 2000 nature reserves, an infringement procedure that, to date, has not brought about any improvement in the situation.
In its reply, the Commission stated that it had sent an additional letter of formal notice pressing for the adoption of ‘detailed, site-specific conservation objectives and measures for all the SACs’. In light of this: what is the state of play with regard to the infringement procedure, and what steps will the Commission take to ensure Galicia’s full compliance with the Directive?
