Statement by President Meloni

Italy has firmly chosen to stand by Ukraine in the face of the brutal war of aggression unleashed by Russia three years ago now, and it continues to ensure its support for the Ukrainian people in their heroic resistance.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs publishing a list of alleged ‘Russophobes’, accused of having “incited hatred” against Russia, is nothing more than yet another propaganda operation, aimed at distracting attention away from Moscow’s grave responsibilities, of which the international community is well aware and which the international community has condemned since the very beginning.

I therefore wish to extend my solidarity to the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, to Ministers Antonio Tajani and Guido Crosetto, and to all those who have been targeted by this unacceptable provocation.
