President Meloni’s statement on the Jubilee of Youth

Thanks to the Jubilee of Youth, Rome has experienced extraordinary days filled with faith, joy and hope.

We will long remember yesterday evening’s moving vigil at the open-air site in Tor Vergata. More than a million young people came from all over the world to listen to the Holy Father and pray together with him.

“Aspire to great things. Do not settle for less”, said Pope Leo XIV at today’s closing Holy Mass. These powerful words will remain etched in the memories of so many, and we will all treasure them.

These have been historic days, and we are proud of the Government’s contribution to the success of this event, through the ‘Jubilee method’ we established at Palazzo Chigi shortly after taking office and which has enabled us to coordinate such a formidable organisational structure in the best way possible over these last years.

I wish to thank all those who have so professionally and passionately done their part, bringing credit to our nation and contributing to the event’s global success.

My special thanks go to all the volunteers, workers and public security forces who, working in close collaboration with the administrations involved and under the direction of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, have guaranteed pilgrims’ safety and provided them with all the assistance they needed.

The Government will keep working, with the same dedication and determination, to ensure the success of the next Jubilee events.
