The public consultations on the revised Annex VI of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED III)[1] are planned to be published in 2025.
The updated Annex VI is expected to include typical and default values for liquefaction of biomethane. The current life-cycle approach to calculate carbon intensity, taking into consideration national electricity mix, is expected to be maintained and compared with the fossil fuel comparator to reach the greenhouse gas emission savings. The new Annex VI is expected to remain aligned with the principles of RED II, as revised.
