Warsaw (Agenzia Fides) – Daily prayer, thematic workshops, and meetings with missionaries: these were the main activities of the second-level School for Missionary Animators (SAM), held from July 1 to 4 in Warsaw. Organized by the Pontifical Mission Societies in Poland, the initiative brought together 37 participants from 17 dioceses: animators, catechists, pastoral workers, and lay people eager to deepen their missionary formation and share their experiences. Each of the four days of SAM 2025 focused on a continent: Africa, Asia, America, and Europe. Participants took part in missionary animation sessions, film workshops, and presentations of initiatives such as AdoMiS (Adopt a Missionary Seminarian) and the Missionary Bouquet (donations for missions in lieu of flowers). The program also included a visit to the Museum of Blessed Mother Elżbieta Róża Czacka and the Center for Blind Children in Laski, near Warsaw. The evening meetings fostered a community atmosphere, with creative workshops, songs, and moments of sharing with missionaries from Tanzania and Argentina. The school concluded with a Eucharistic celebration and the presentation of the “missionary mandate” to the participants. “We wanted the animators not only to acquire knowledge, but above all, to experience the missionary spirit of the Church. Every day was an opportunity to meet living witnesses of the faith,” emphasized Fr. Maciej Będziński, National Director of the Polish Pontifical Mission Societies. Active in Poland since 1997, the School for Missionary Animators has trained more than 1,500 animators and represents a fruitful initiative supporting the Church’s missionary commitment in Poland and around the world.
