Statement by Palazzo Chigi on negotiations between the European Union and the United States

The Italian Government is continuing to closely follow developments in the ongoing negotiations between the European Union and the United States, fully supporting the European Commission’s efforts, which will intensify further in the coming days.

We trust in the good will of all the parties involved to reach a fair agreement, able to strengthen the West in its entirety, as it would make no sense to spark a trade war between the two sides of the Atlantic, especially in the current context.

It is now essential to remain focused on the negotiations, avoiding polarisations that would make reaching an agreement more complex.
