Joint communiqué issued by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry for the Armed Forces (Paris, August 1, 2025)

France and Jordan are continuing their humanitarian cooperation to provide essential support to Gaza’s population, which is being hit by a humanitarian crisis on an unprecedented scale. A C-130J aircraft belonging to the Franco-German squadron of the French Air and Space Force carried out an initial airdrop of non-perishable foodstuffs over Gaza on 1 August, alongside several other associated countries. The aid, in parcels with multiple parachutes, includes several tonnes of food resources delivered on various return flights spread over several days.

The operations are not intended to replace a significant increase in aid volumes, which would require Israel immediately to open land crossing points. France is also working on ground deliveries – by far the most effective solution to enable the massive and unimpeded delivery of the humanitarian goods the population desperately needs.

France reiterates its calls for a ceasefire to be reached, for Israel to urgently open all crossing points and for the immediate, massive and completely unimpeded access by land to the Gaza Strip of humanitarian aid, whose distribution will have to be ensured by the UN and its agencies as well as international NGOs, in accordance with the principles of international humanitarian law./.
