This investment is being matched by developments in other military installations Cork. The Minister also visited Collins Barracks, where the refurbishment of accommodation in Block 1 is now under construction.

This progress speaks to the Government’s commitment to delivering much needed defence infrastructure. Over the past number of years, there has been an unprecedented level of investment in defence infrastructure throughout the State, unparalleled in Irish history. This year the allocation stands at €83m for capital investment and property maintenance costs. This is the highest level of annual investment to-date.
