Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon TD, has today announced a one-week extension to the public consultation opened in February on the future of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) post-2027. The consultation, which was launched to gather views from farmers, stakeholders and members of the public on Ireland’s priorities for the next CAP, will now remain open until 27 March 2026.

The public consultation is a key element of the Department’s ongoing engagement process and will help inform Ireland’s priorities as negotiations on the CAP post-2027 proposals progress.

Submissions may be made online through the consultation questionnaire and sent to post2027capconsultation@agriculture.gov.ie. The new deadline for receipt of submissions is 5pm on Friday, 27 March 2026.
